FruitsDex is a hand-curated catalogue of fruits from every continent — what they are, where they grow, what they contain, and the long-running stories behind them.

Every fact is checked against multiple public scientific data sources. Nutrition figures come from USDA FoodData Central or IFCT 2017. Country-by-country production figures come from FAO STAT. Botanical taxonomy comes from GBIF. Origin and history from Wikipedia and Wikidata.

Where data is bundled by international agencies (e.g. "Mangoes, guavas and mangosteens"), we say so plainly with a footnote. Where data is missing, we leave it blank rather than guess.
